  • ‘The counselling I am having is really helping me start to understand myself and my behaviour. I am feeling the benefits every week. I would highly recommend Jon.’

    VICTORIA (50)

  • ‘I was referred to Jon Knowles through Change Grow Live, and although doing an Honours Degree in Psychology have always been somewhat sceptical of counselling. I went through a few councillors after my service in the Armed Forces, but never found the experience worthwhile or rewarding possibly down to my own resistance to the process. However, personal circumstances brought me into the service of John and people have commented I am a different person. He has worked with me and through his impeccable professionalism, empathy and most assuredly patience, has changed my whole view of counselling and the life changing benefits that he has helped me achieve. He has helped me address so many issues, from my problems with alcohol to my general presentation and social interaction. Due to his continued professional guidance  I am happy to say that I am 7 months abstinent, and have a whole new set of tools to deal with given stressful situations. I am truly for the first time in a long time, looking to the future with confidence and John is the main person I have to thank for that’.

    ADRIAN (37)

  • ‘My sessions with Jon have really helped me deal with the underlying issues in my life that have caused me great worry and stress which in turn have led to issues with alcohol, Jon was able help me to look at these problems from a different angle and analyse them. This gave me the power to view my worries and concerns from a different perspective which has helped me no end in dealing with them and how to cope with future issues that may come my way.’

    BEN (42)

  • ‘I wanted to say thank you, I know It’s still early days, but our sessions really helped me to work some things out for myself that I had been carrying and struggling with.
I feel for the first time in years, I am recognising myself again, and not only that but importantly, I am also starting to feel confident enough to be myself rather than being what I think I ought to be. The challenge now is what to do with the possibilities that this is starting to create! and I’m sure this will present me with its own issues, but I’d rather face those new problems than the feelings of being trapped and stuck that I had before.
    So thanks again Jon.’

  • ‘I began my weekly therapy sessions with Jon just over four months ago. I was a little anxious about starting because asking for help is quite daunting. However, Jon made me feel very much at ease right from the offset. Over the weeks he has helped me to open up and look at myself with a real honesty. He is so down to earth and I never feel judged for who I am. The sessions are all about me and they are my safe place where I can say anything and everything that is on my mind. I am truly grateful for my time with Jon, for his gentle, patient encouragement. I have already come a long way and I will continue my journey with him to explore the issues that are important to me.’

  • ‘I wanted to thank you so much for helping me to overcome my various “demons” and put things in perspective to make life much more comfortable for me.
I came to you as almost a last resort, to help with the problems I was having with my sleep patterns and am so glad I did. With your help and guidance I no longer have the alarming nightmares I had been experiencing for most of my life.
Talking through so many things I worried about helped me understand and deal with them.
I was always very comfortable in our sessions, mainly (on reflection) because you are totally non judgemental and encouraged an openness in our conversations which made me much more inclined to speak about many issues I had not voiced before.
You have helped me tremendously and I am so grateful.’

  • ‘I approached Jon when I was going through a very difficult time following something drastic that had happened as a result of my own reckless behaviour.  This event left me in a constant state of anxiety and shame, which for the first time in my life I simply couldn’t seem to shrug off. I felt like my whole world had crumbled as a result of my own actions which I didn’t even feel in control of. Working with Jon has helped me learn a lot about myself. I was able to look at myself through a new perspective and ultimately take control of my life.I’ve turned into a very resilient and courageous person and feel equipped to take on bigger challenges and push myself further, at my own pace without making ridiculous comparisons, or feeling I need to prove myself. My confidence has sky rocketed, which has continued to have a knock on effect in numerous  other areas of my life. I feel able to be honest with myself and loved ones and as a result my relationships with the right people are stronger than ever. Following our sessions I often find myself taking action in difficult situations, which always seems to have a net positive result long term.I’d like to say a massive thank you to Jon for all your help. I’m extremely grateful for the impact our sessions have had on my life.’

    JARLETH (30)

  • ‘When I first met Jonathan, I was broken. I was literally unable to put one foot in front of the other, both physically and metaphorically. I’d hit my rock bottom. My anxiety was as sky high as my depression was deep, I was lost. Jonathan helped me to see a future and walked me towards it. His patience, determination and wisdom helped me to recover, to reboot my life. I will be forever grateful to him.’

    MARK (57)

  • ‘Please read this if anyone is looking to change their life.
I was a broken woman when I walked into my 1st meeting with Jonathan and to be honest I was just treading water, I just didn’t see my life going anywhere fast.  I had tried 4 councillors before and didn’t get any quick and nearly gave up hope.  I was on line searching one final time and came across Jonathan and within a couple of days I had my 1st session. I came out beaming just knowing with guy was going to really help me.
Jonathan has really helped me get back on track with my anxiety, worry of dying at an early age and just getting me back on the horse but most of all making me feel my worth again! Please all I can say if you are just thinking shall I give it another go! DO IT!’ Jonathan, all I can say is thank you so much.’

    JAYNE (47)

  • ‘Myself and Dean had a super holiday which we both needed. When we got back Dean did ask me to get in touch with you. He is in a good place at the minute, he still has his moments but he deals with them from what he learnt from his sessions. I have asked Dean if he needs me to book an appointment with you but he says he’s all good at the minute. He has however told me to say a massive thanks to you Jon he really doesn’t know how he would have coped without his sessions with you ! I would also like to say thanks to you for helping my husband come back to me , in some ways a better version as we discuss everything now and not bury it in the sand . We would like to keep you close just in case he needs you again if that would be ok with you ! Once again thanks so much you really are a star.

  • ‘All I can say is thank you to Jon, who has helped me over the course of a couple of months, through 1 of the hardest times in My life, losing my grandad brought up a lot of old unaddressed issues which could have caused me to decline quite easily. Working with Jon alongside helping myself outside of therapy, doing the right things and working on myself, has taken me from the worst place in the world, to having amazing hope for the future within myself and life. Jon’s approach is unique and very effective/relaxing, I’ve had therapy in the past that was generally no help at all. Jon helped me realise a lot about myself and my life situation, Jon’s help combined with the correct mindset will be life changing. It was for me. From the worst place to the best place, thanks Jon.’
